My name is Beth Mittelman and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us!
I was born in New Jersey. My family moved to Georgia when I was 10 years old. I grew up in Marietta and attended Sprayberry High School. I attended Kennesaw College for a few years until I got married
My husband, Steve, and I were married in 1989. We moved to Dallas soon afterwards. Our daughter, Emily, is 22 and graduated from East Paulding High School in 2012. Go Raiders!! She lives in Dahlonega and is beginning her 2nd senior year at The University of North Georgia. She is studying psychology and will be graduating in May. We are also the proud parents to our dog Bella. She is a lab/pointer mix and keeps us wildly entertained. Bella loves her yellow tennis balls. They can be found in every room in our house. She also LOVES to swim in our pool.
When Emily was in 3rd grade, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I returned to (newly named) Kennesaw State University. I majored in Early Childhood Education and couldn’t wait to begin teaching. To help me become a better teacher, I received my Masters of Education degree from Kennesaw State University two years ago.
I started teaching 4th grade in 2007. I was at Dallas Elementary for two years, then I was transferred to New Georgia Elementary for one year, and finally I moved to my ‘home’ at Ragsdale Elementary. As I begin my 7th year at Ragsdale and my 10th year teaching, this will be my first year teaching 3rd grade. I'm very excited about the opportunity to be a part of your child's life.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, photography, and scrapbooking.
Please feel free to participate in your child’s third grade year as much as you are able. Helping hands are always needed. Whether it is reading a story to the class, helping with field trips or class parties, or any other participation will enrich our classroom experiences.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year with you and your child!
Sincerely,
Beth Mittelman
